Look Out For Yetis on the slopes

These images from the Department of Yetiology and the Canadian Ski Patrol System were warning back in the 1960s. The various cartoon images showed typical Yetis to look out for.

The Official Yetiologist's Gude by Alan Beaney, illustrations by Wicks.

If you spot one of these characters, it's best to report to your local Ski Patroller, don't approach by yourself.

Santa doesn't seem to be too happy with one of his reindeer that snacked a bit instead of eating healthy in this vintage Dewar cartoon.

Holiday illustrations by cartoonmen

This one is by Barron from the Star.

And a seasonal Pavlov one from Ted Martin, from his book Pavlov's Pad.

A colour page by Doug Wright, below.

And we end off with Wicks from the Second Treasury.

Jimmy Frise cartoons

Pictured here is a colourful Christmas scene by Jimmy Frise from the TTC's own in house magazine, The Coupler. More about Frise and Greg Clark can be read at www.gregandjim.ca. It's concerned with  reproductions of the Greg-Jim stories that were published between 1932 and 1948. These were stories by Greg with a main illustration by Jim.

"But it just goes to show how much adventure there is in the simplest places, and how like another world it is the minute you step off the beaten path"
From Greg and Jim’s first story in 1932

Here is another wonderful Christmas image from a holiday card.
